From Coach Toby…….
This week we’ve got a little bit of everything: easy running, hills, stairs, and a fast downhill finish. Changing terrain helps build strength, endurance, and confidence without needing a traditional speed workout.
And there’s an optional little surprise near the top. One of my favorite parts of running every street in SF was discovering random little climbs like this. 🙂
Meet-Up
6:30pm at 7th Ave + MLK Jr Drive, GG Park
Workout
Mile 1: Easy + flat
Start on MLK Jr Drive at 7th Ave and run west toward 19th Ave. Settle into an easy, comfortable pace.
Miles 1.5-2.5: 18th Ave Climb + Quintara Steps
We’ll head up 18th Ave, turn left on Quintara St and climb the Quintara Steps. After the stairs, continue straight to 10th Ave.
This is the toughest part of the run so run by effort, not pace.
Miles 2.5-4: Choose your adventure + downhill finish!
When you hit 10th Ave, you have two options:
Turn left and head straight into the long downhill finish.
Or, feeling spicy? 🌶️ Turn right and take on 1-3 repeats of the super short, super steep 20% block. Recover on the descent, then continue down 10th Ave.
Finish by turning right on Lincoln, then left on 7th Ave and head back to the park.
