Wildcard Workout Week 8 — Twin Peaks (4M)

Fun, hilly, together we’ll conquer Twin Peaks, the second highest summit in the city!

Meetup: 7th Ave & MLK Jr Dr. 

Warm-up/cooldown: to and from Kezar Stadium 

Route:

This is an out and back course.

Post run social: Pacific Catch 1200 9th Ave. 

Route turn by turn directions: 

  • Exit Kezar Stadium’s west entrance and turn left 
  • At Frederick St turn left 
  • At Stanyan St turn right
  • Continue on Stanyan to the very top. It’s flat at first, followed by a gradual climb, and finally a short but steep push 
  • At the top of Stanyan turn left onto Belgrave 
  • At the end of Belgrave Ave take the steps on the left that lead up to Tank Hill 
  • At the top of the steps continue straight on the dirt trail 
  • Pause to enjoy the views then continue along the single track trail to leave Tank Hill
  • At the end of the trail turn left and exit via the wooden steps
  • At the bottom of the steps turn right and then left to cross over Clarendon Ave and begin the climb up Twin Peaks Blvd 
  • Run along Twin Peaks Blvd to the top. 
  • After you pass the entrance to the Twin Peaks parking lot on your left look for the steps that will ascend to the top of Twin Peaks. 
  • Take the steps and head up the dirt trail to the top 
  • You made it! Enjoy the 360 views before retracing your (mostly downhill) steps back to Kezar Stadium. Easy cooldown jog back to the start from here.
