Once again, we’re venturing off the track in our quest to address your ‘need for speed’.
We’ll rendezvous at the WEST entrance to Kezar, do a warmup routine on the upper deck of Kezar before dropping personal items in my car and segueing to the panhandle for a progression run.
A progression run involves starting at an easy pace and gradually speeding up throughout the workout. We’ll be running three 1.1-mile loops. Here’s how we will break each down:
First Loop: Start at an easy conversational pace. Warm up, find your rhythm.
Second Loop: Tackle the second loop at ‘tempo’ pace. We did some tempo work last week in GGP. Unlike last week, you’re maintaining this ‘comfortably hard’ pace for more than a mile. The good news is there are no hills to contend with this time around!
Final Loop: Vizualize the last mile of your race (whether it’s a 5K, 10K, Half, Full, etc). Whatever you have left, whatever you’ve been saving, spend it on the last loop!
