Thanks for coming out for last week’s hilly holiday lights run. If you missed it, it’s a great one to do on your own.

This week we transition back to the flats with our annual holiday fartlek run.

Fartlek workouts are fun and a super efficient way to improve speed and endurance. Please bring a watch if you can. If you have a Garmin, you can set up time intervals in advance. Other watches and apps may also offer this feature. No watch? Not to worry!

Everyone will do a 1.5 mile warm-up and 1.5 cool mile down. For the fartlek component, you may choose from 1.5 or 2 miles. You will increase your speed for one minute then back to normal speed for one minute, all the way to your turnaround point. On your way back, you will do the same, but at 90 second intervals.
