From Coach Toby…..
Wildcard summer is back!
If you’re new to Wildcards, these runs are designed to complement our Thursday night Kezar track workouts with more strength and endurance focused training. Expect hills, trails, stairs, varied terrain, and routes that challenge you differently than the track while also exploring different parts of the city and discovering places you may not normally run.
As a run coach I’m always happy to help with your running and training, and our entire coaching and captain team is a great resource as well for questions around training, racing, pacing, trails, or anything running related.
To kick off the season, we’re heading out to explore some of San Francisco’s lesser known and most underrated trails. This one mixes a little road, a little dirt, some easy climbing and a lot of good scenery. Road or trail shoes will both work fine.
The 3.5-mile option is an out-and-back while the 4-mile route completes a full trail loop through Laguna Honda. The mix of road and trail running is a great way to build strength, stability, and trail confidence without needing a huge mileage day.

Post Run
Join us after for our first summer social at Yancy’s Saloon (734 Irving St). Grab a bite or beverage and hang for a bit!
Housekeeping
– Post run hangs are part of Wildcard season. Each week after the run we’ll walk to a neighborhood spot to grab food, drinks, and hang out. It’s one of the best ways to meet people and connect beyond the run.
– I can usually stash small non-valuables in my car during the run, but please travel light if possible.
