Not only does this edition of the adventure run include a TOTALLY DIFFERENT venue, the ‘adventure’ we’re embarking on is quite different from any other we have tackled this season. I’m injecting a fun ‘competitive’ angle into our ‘Lake Loop’ adventure run!
To be clear, this is not a ‘competition’ that will necessarily be won by the swiftest runner. This competition will be won by the runner who knows their pace/level of effort best.
At the beginning of the run, all interested parties will be asked to ‘predict’ how long they think it will take them to complete the 4.5ish mile ‘Lake Loop’. This pace could be your comfortable/conversational pace, it could be your target race pace, or maybe it’s your tempo pace. Whatever pace you opt to run, make sure it aligns with your ‘prediction’. Here’s a link to the Lake Loop course map…
There’s one minor ‘wrinkle’ to consider when tackling this competition. Anyone participating in this competition will NOT be permitted to use their watch, phone, device, etc during the run! 🙂 You’ll need to run according to ‘feel’. Only I will have official finish times for all runners.
Just like in the Olympics, we’ll have gold, silver, and bronze medalists with prizes for each runner who make it onto the podium! The three runners who ‘predict’ their finish time with the most accuracy will ascend to the podium!
