From Coach Toby…..
Meet 6:30pm at the mini park at Judah St and Great Hwy (1396 La Playa St)
Easily accessible by MUNI (N Judah and bus lines), street parking available. Restrooms at start and finish. This is the same spot we met in June for our beach run.
Sutro Heights is one of my favorite “secret” city spots for a short 20-30 min workout focused on developing lower body strength and power. The combination of stairs, uphill running, and paved descents are ideal for engaging and strengthening our quads, hamstrings, glutes and calves.
Enjoy the scenery as you push up the stairs. The beautiful coastal views can be super motivating. To make the most of your workout, consider alternating in between sprinting up the stairs and recovering on the way down. The ascent is .1M, the downhill recovery is .4M.
Warmup: 1 mile jog to Balboa and La Playa
