For this edition of speedwork, we’re venturing into ‘progression run’ territory.
Simply put, the general idea is to run your first interval at comfortable, conversational pace and run FASTER for each subsequent interval until you get to a point where you feel you simply CANNOT run any faster!
This kind of workout can do wonders for building your aerobic capacity and mental toughness. It also provides a great opportunity to explore the various ‘gears’ you have as a runner. Rest assured, you’ve got more than you think 😉
For this workout, you can opt for 400M or 800M repeats. There is no set ‘number’ of intervals tied to this workout. Once you think you’ve reached the upper limit of what you can support, you’re done!
