New Year’s Wildcard Workout –  4 Mile Progressive Hill Run

News

From Coach Toby……

Running inclines usually requires more of us than running on flat terrain. Not to worry. For this run, slow things down and focus on effort and not speed on the climb, and form and foot turnover on the descent.

Mental prep: all the heavy lifting is in mile 2 of this run

Mile 1 – a gradual climb – 100 ft elevation gain

Mile 2 – prepare for the pivot, the easy climb gradually becomes more challenging – 300 ft elevation gain

Mile 3 – lean in and eyes ahead on this 400 foot descent

Mile 4 – This recovery mile is an easy downhill and then mostly flat. Enjoy.
