“Hills are speed work in disguise” – Frank Shorter
San Francisco is THE year round mecca for urban running. Much of that I believe is because of the accessibility of hills and a chance at a grand adventure any time we step out the door.
Inspired by my pet project to run all of San Francisco, this week’s wildcard takes advantage of everything hill workouts and our local streets have to offer.
Our last wildcard before Christmas! Feel free to dress in your holiday running best, and please join us at Perilla for post run Vietnamese garlic noodles & pho. The place is great and a Run Club winter season favorite.
This week’s wildcard workout is accessible and encouraged for runners of all abilities and ambitions. After a half mile warm up, we’ll segue into a 1.5 mile Sunset neighborhood hill workout, then 1.5 mile cool down. See you Tuesday.

- Start and finish and 7th and MLK Jr Drive
- South on 7th Ave, crossing Lincoln Way at stoplight
- Right on Lawton St
- Left on 8th

- Right on Auto Dr (alley way)
